What is SEO?

SEO is Search Engine Optimization. It is the process which allows your website to be ranked on search engines. The better the optimization the higher your site's ranking on searches done on search engines. The three major search engines are Google, Yahoo, MSN.

How is it Done?

There are a number of steps which need to be taken. The first one is in the choosing of your domain name. It needs to incorporate your best keyword in order to be optimized. Along with your domain name, Title & Description Meta Tags must be created. Your keywords must be incorporated into your page. External links, i.e. Directories, other websites which are in line with your service are all important steps to be taken when optimizing your site. Once all the steps are done, you must submit to search engines so that your site can be indexed. To succeed in high rankings, the SEO process is long, frustrating and can be difficult. It's always easier when you have optimization tools to work with. Once your site has been submitted to the search engines, you can sit back and be patient. It takes anywhere between 2 weeks and 6 months to see the results depending on which search engine you're looking in.
